Could only registered members trade on power exchanges?
Yes, only registered participants can trade on the power exchange. In order for a company to obtain certificate for electricity trading, it must engage clearing bank, become a balancing service provider, and pass trading exam.
Why do I need a broker for trading on the power exchange?
A broker is necessary in power trading, because participation in the power exchange is regulated in a very strict and clear way by clearing companies and power exchange; therefore, an extensive documents are required, as well as licenses and deposited collaterals, which also requires huge financial investments.

Also, it requires very high investment regarding deposited collateral amounts, especially when it comes to purchase of electricity on the power exchange which is higher than electricity sale.
